Food and Family!

One of my family's favorite one dish meals when my kids were all at home was Spanish Rice. 

This recipe came from my mom, who made it when her kids were all at home. 

I hope you enjoy it as much as we all do!


Spanish Rice
1 pound of ground beef
1- 8oz. can of tomato sauce
1 cup of instant rice, uncooked
1 1/2 cup of water
1 small green bell pepper, chopped
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 can of whole kernel corn, drained
salt to taste

In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion and bell pepper till meat is done. Drain grease, return to skillet, add tomato sauce, corn, water and instant rice. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, cover with lid. Simmer for 5 minutes, turn off heat. Let rest for 5 minutes and serve hot.

We like it served with garlic toast or flour tortillas.
